MIZA was not born from market research.

It was born during one of the most difficult periods of my life.

Within a few months, many things fell apart around me. I experienced separation, grief, financial hardship, exhaustion and loneliness.

Then my life stopped for eleven days.

Because of a situation related to my military service, I found myself locked in a cell.

The toilets were right next to us. Very little air circulated. Humidity and the smell of mould filled the place. We could not shower properly, wear fragrance or simply recover that feeling of freshness we usually take for granted.

Day after day, the same smells became part of the setting.

Then, one day, an officer came in.

He sprayed a musk-scented mist.

In a few seconds, something changed.

The walls were still the same. The cell was still the same. My situation was still the same.

But the atmosphere was not.

For a few minutes, that scent had transformed our perception of the place.

I still remember the musk.

Most of all, I remember my disappointment when, barely ten minutes later, the fragrance had almost completely disappeared.

That was when an idea came to me:

What if a mist could truly transform the atmosphere of a place—and remain there?

I wanted to create a different mist.

A concentrated mist, made with quality ingredients and designed to leave a real olfactory presence behind.

A fragrance capable of replacing an atmosphere we endure with one we choose.

That day, I made my decision.

It was the 19th.

Without knowing it yet, in a place where I felt deprived of almost everything, I had found the idea that would give birth to MIZA.
